“Sports Rorts” affair
The Recreation Ground has been in the news thanks to the Federal Government “Sports Rorts” affair. The Rec Ground submitted a Grant Application back in September 2018 for funding to build a new change room facility to meet the needs of all players but in particular the women and kids who play all sports at our grounds. We were advised early last year that we were unsuccessful but it has come to light that our application scored 94/100 which was the highest score in SA that was not funded and the 5th highest in Australia that was not funded.
