Community Activities

CFS

Make a difference in your community – become a volunteer fire-fighter at Cherry Gardens CFS Brigade. We train on Monday nights from 7:30pm - Come & try.
Learn more about the Cherry Gardens CFS here, and read their regular column in the Cherry Chatter.

Cherry Chatter

The Cherry Chatter committee meets on the second Wednesday of the month to review and edit all articles. The newsletter is then created and sent to the printers as well as added to the website. A team of volunteers distributes the printed newsletters to the residents of Cherry Gardens. If you are interested in joining the committee, please email us at cherrychatternews@gmail.com, or find out more about us.

Friends of Scott Creek

The Friends of Scott Creek Conservation Park was established in 1990, five years after the Conservation Park was proclaimed. They are a diverse group of people who share a passion for protecting and enhancing this special part of the Adelaide Hills. Restoration activities that the Friends group undertakes in the Park include rehabilitation of creek systems and other wetland areas, bush regeneration and a limited amount of tubestock planting of locally indigenous species, to revegetate more degraded areas. There is also monitoring, mapping weed and native species locations and a bird banding program that has been run in the Park since 1993.
The group has regular social outings, runs annual public walks in the Park, produces a quarterly newsletter, Bandicoot Tails, and maintains a website, which comprises a wealth of information available to the wider community. Enjoy a walk in nature, the beautiful bushland, the wildlife and the views. Visit our friendly group’s activities and be inspired by our restoration efforts, learn bushcare skills or join up to help preserve this special place.
Anyone wanting information about the group or Park, or wanting to get involved in any of the Friends’ activities, can contact Peter Watton on 0427010949 or email info@friendsofscottcreekcp.org.au or visit our website www.friendsofscottcreekcp.org.au or Facebook page. The Friends’ calendar of activities can be found on its website and in the back of its quarterly newsletter.
