Ms Sharkie,

Thank you for that very welcome news.

As you are well aware, NBN connectivity in our community is woeful. Satellite NBN is a joke and the commercial ADSL providers have been pulling out, leaving just Telstra.

My own ADSL service with Internode (now TPG/ iiNet / Internode) was discontinued in August 2019 with just 30 days notice and I was forced to choose another provider.

Rather than going to Telstra ADSL, I chose to install a 4G antenna on my roof and now enjoy 500GB of data at $85/month from an Optus tower ~ 4km away in Clarendon.

The link stability, speed and latency are all excellent - far better than ADSL that was always dropping out. So, I think this is the best option for the Adelaide Hills, peri urban fringe - more 4G (that in a few years will become 5G) HOWEVER, when considering the proposed tender process, the 4G plans that are offered must be of a sufficient data size that they can be used to replace ADSL.

Most ADSL plans offer at least 200GB of data, with unlimited data being common. I look forward to hearing from the State Government regarding the status of their $50,000 contribution to this very necessary upgrade of our communication services.

Please note I have copied Steve Murray MP who has given strong support and interest previously in this issue.
